Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Pine Grove Elementary School.  We are happy to have you as a member of the Superstar tradition.  Regardless of grade level, we want all students to experience their most exciting and successful year ever.  While attending Pine Grove Elementary School, your student will encounter many changes. The academic workload and social adjustments are sometimes challenging, but rest assured that the dedicated Pine Grove staff will be there to help along the way.  Students will be expected to attend school daily with school spirit, take pride in the assignments they complete, and accept responsibility for appropriate decisions and behavior.

This year at Pine Grove, we will continue to encourage all students to embrace integrity, learning, high expectations, and achievement in their daily choices and interactions. Our goal is for your student to be all they can possibly be.  We need your cooperation as we move toward this goal.  I encourage both you and your student to read and discuss the student handbook located in the student planner.  The handbook will answer many questions you both may have about rules and activities at Pine Grove Elementary School. All students and parents are responsible for knowing the contents of this handbook.

Please read the following two items regarding student and campus safety:

Every Wednesday is early release and school is out at 1:00PM.  Students are not to be on campus unless they are in Campus Connection or registered for the enrichment programs.  There is no adult supervision after 1:15PM.  Please pick up your children on time.

I am asking that students be dropped off at school and parents NOT follow them onto campus.  If you have a specific reason to be on campus, you may sign in and get a badge in the office.  Our campus is very open and as the safety guardians of this campus, we can’t always distinguish parents/guardians from unauthorized adult visitors.  Please help us keep your children safe!

I would like to encourage each of you to get involved in our PTA.  Students benefit from their parents being involved in their school activities.  You can support the PTA by volunteering for activities and/or just by joining and paying the annual dues of $7.00.  There is a PTA membership flyer included in your student’s Back to School packet.  Please take a moment to fill out the flyer and return with a check or cash with your annual membership dues.

Once again, welcome to the 2017-2018 school year.  We are excited for the many adventures and challenges ahead.  It’s good to be a Superstar!
